Why aren't the discs perforated?

The Lägler Trio does not have a hole-based dust extraction system that runs directly through the sanding disc—therefore, solid discs are the correct type to use. The resulting sanding dust is extracted from the side via the machine’s dust extraction system, not through holes in the disc.

What grit size should I use for the first round of sanding on old hardwood floors?

For heavily worn or varnished hardwood floors, start with K24 or K36 for coarse sanding. For floors with normal wear, K40 or K60 is usually sufficient. Then gradually increase the grit size: K60 → K80 → K100 for fine sanding before sealing.

How many sheets does a Lägler Trio use per renovation?

Since the Lägler Trio uses three sanding discs at the same time, you’ll need three discs for each grit change. For a complete renovation project using four grits (e.g., K24, K40, K60, K100), you’ll need at least 12 discs—and even more for larger surfaces. Our 50-pack per grit therefore provides an excellent supply.

Will I still get the most out of the 200-mm version even without the Lägler Trio?

Zirconia corundum is significantly harder and more durable than standard corundum. For intensive projects and large surfaces using the Lägler Trio, zirconia usually pays for itself significantly because you use fewer discs.

Are the discs also suitable for stainless steel?

Yes, thanks to the self-sharpening properties of the zirconia-alumina grain, our hook-and-loop discs are ideal for working with stainless steel and other metals—even at low contact pressure and without overheating the surface.

How long does a 200-mm hook-and-loop sanding disc last in professional use?

This depends heavily on the material, grit size, and pressure applied. With medium-grit sandpaper (K60) on oak parquet, the coverage is typically 8–18 m² per sheet. For larger areas or harder woods, the coverage will be correspondingly lower. A pack of 50 sheets will provide you with enough to complete a major renovation.
