Goldband Painter's Tape – Premium Masking Tape for Painting & Decorating Projects
Goldband painter's tape is the most widely used masking tape in the professional painting and finishing trade. Riwo Commerce offers premium-quality tape in a set of three (30/40/50 mm × 50 m), imported directly—leaves no residue, is UV-resistant, and features a precise masking edge.
Not all masking tape is suitable for painting projects. The key quality criteria:
Our Goldband painter's tape is compatible with all standard paint and varnish systems:
| width | Typical Application |
|---|---|
| 30 mm | Narrow moldings, window frames, decorative trim, joints |
| 40 mm | Universal width – wall trim, door frames, general painting work |
| 50 mm | Wide-area coatings, facades, floor coatings, automotive paint |
This convenient 3-piece set includes all three widths (30/40/50 mm)—each 50 m long. Ideal for professionals who want to have all widths on hand:

When painting two adjacent areas, paint tends to seep under the edge of the masking tape—resulting in frayed, messy transitions. With the right technique, these can be reliably avoided.
The surface should be clean, dry, and free of grease or dust. First, paint the entire surface and let it dry thoroughly—usually 12 to 24 hours, depending on the paint. If you apply masking tape too soon, the paint layer, which is still soft, may be damaged when you remove the tape later.
Position the gold tape precisely where you want it and press it down firmly—using the edge of a putty knife, your thumb, or a smooth cloth, for example. Just pressing it down lightly isn’t enough: only when it makes full contact with the wall will it prevent paint from seeping underneath later.
Before applying the second color, go over the edge of the masking tape once more with the base color you’ve already used. This fills any tiny gaps between the tape and the wall with the non-critical base color, rather than leaving them exposed to the accent color later. Let it dry briefly. For rough or textured surfaces (such as wood-grain wallpaper), it is recommended to apply a thin, smoothly spread layer of acrylic sealant instead.
Apply the second coat of paint over the taped-off area. When doing so, move the brush across the edge of the tape or directly along it—painting parallel to the edge can cause paint to seep under the tape.
This step determines the final result: Remove the tape before the fresh paint sets—in one smooth motion, at a flat angle of about 45 degrees away from the wall. If you wait too long, the drying paint will form an elastic film that tears as you pull the tape off, leaving an unsightly, frayed edge.
Remove any dust or grease from the surface before applying the tape. On smooth surfaces (glass, metal, plastic), press the tape firmly against the surface to prevent paint from seeping underneath.
It's best to remove the tape while the paint is still slightly damp—that way, the edge will peel off cleanly. If the paint is completely dry, slowly peel off the tape at a 45° angle.
Store in a cool, dry place and protect from direct sunlight. Store opened rolls in a zip-top bag to prevent the adhesive from drying out.
Our Premium Gold Tape is designed to stay in place for up to 14 days without leaving any residue. If exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend removing it within 7 days.
Yes—but the paint must be completely dry (at least 24 hours for emulsion paints). If you peel off fresh paint, you risk causing it to flake.
Yes—our Premium Gold Tape is UV-resistant and suitable for outdoor use under normal weather conditions. In case of rain or extreme heat, limit the application time to a maximum of 7 days.
For standard wall connections and ceiling transitions, 40 mm is the ideal universal width. For narrow moldings and profiles, 30 mm is sufficient; for wide facade coverings, we recommend 50 mm.
