For particularly hard woods (tropical woods, oak), stainless steel, or when maximum service life is required, our zirconia-corundum variant —which features a self-sharpening effect and up to twice the service life—is the best option.
What is the purpose of the star-shaped center cutout?
The closed star-shaped cutout in the center allows for two mounting options: a hook-and-loop system using a compatible backing plate with hook-and-loop backing, or screw mounting through the center cutout. This makes our discs compatible with many different machines—including older models without hook-and-loop fasteners.
Do I need a special turntable?
Yes, for the Velcro attachment, you will need a compatible backing plate in the appropriate size (150 mm or 180 mm in diameter) with a Velcro surface. If you have any questions about the right plate size for your machine, please feel free to contact us.
