Frequently Asked Questions

For which machines are the 40×303 mm sanding belts suitable?

These sanding belts fit all standard cordless belt sanders with a belt size of 40×303 mm, such as Bosch, Makita, Black+Decker, Metabo, and DeWalt. Please check the belt size and direction of travel before purchasing.

How many sanding belts are included in the package?

The 10-pack contains 10 sanding belts in the selected grit size. For large-scale sanding projects, we recommend combining multiple grit sizes—from coarse for material removal to fine for surface finishing.

What materials are corundum abrasive belts suitable for?

Aluminium oxide is suitable for wood, metal, paint, varnish, and plastic. For wood, we recommend grit sizes K40–K80 for rough sanding and K100–K120 for fine sanding. For metal, grit sizes K40–K80 are suitable when used with adequate cooling.

What grit size do you recommend for woodworking with a hand-held belt sander?

For initial sanding of rough or untreated wood, we recommend K40–K60; for intermediate sanding, K80–K100; and for final sanding before painting, K120–K150. Hand-held belt sanders are mainly used for rough material removal and quickly leveling surfaces.

What is the difference between corundum and zirconia-corundum abrasive belts?

Alumina is the classic all-rounder offering good value for money—ideal for occasional sanding jobs and softer materials. Zirconia is self-sharpening and more durable, making it suitable for hard woods and intensive, continuous use. For standard tasks with a hand-held belt sander, alumina is the cost-effective choice.
