How long does a corundum abrasive belt last in professional use?
This depends heavily on the type of wood, grit size, and machine pressure. A general rule of thumb for corundum on oak parquet: 20–35 m² per belt for coarse sanding (K40), and correspondingly more for fine sanding. With softer wood or finer grits, a belt can last significantly longer. Zirconium corundum belts typically last 50–100% longer.
What grit size should I use for the first round of sanding on old hardwood floors?
